The weather could not have been more gorgeous for Heather and Doug’s Capri wedding on April 26! The exciting day began early with Heather and Doug and their family arriving by hydrofoil from their cruise ship which was docked in Sorrento. They were met at the Capri Port by one of our team members and whisked in the fabulous Capri convertible taxis to the heart of the Island.
The Capri taxis are part of the island’s tradition – allowing guests to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air of this magical island.
The taxis arrived in the heart of the island: the Piazzetta di Capri or the main square. The Piazzetta is famous for its cafe’s, luxury hotels and boutiques – it is the hub of the island.
Once you arrive in the main part of Capri you can explore the winding streets on foot – from every corner there are magnificent views! Heather and Doug had glorious weather for their Capri wedding; everything was in full bloom!
The Faraglioni are the most famous highlight of Capri, two jagged rocks rising from the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean.
Heather and Doug arrived at the luxury 5 star Capri Tiberio Palace with amazing views of the sea and a wonderful terrace and interiors offering the possibility of celebrating both ceremony and reception.
The wedding ceremony was held outdoors on the main panoramic terrace with fantastic views! The setting could not be more representative of the beauty of Capri.
This luxury boutique hotel is on the cutting edge of design and innovation with natural light streaming in and views that are out of this world.
To celebrate the happy occasion the chef created a special seafood menu in honor of Heather and Doug’s Capri wedding reception:
Salmone leggermente marinato alle spezie con julienne di mela verde
Herbs marinated salmon with sliced green apple
Mezze maniche con calamaretti e rucola
“mezze maniche” pasta with baby squids and rocket salad
Filetto di spigola con finocchietto selvatico,verdurine croccanti e salsa all’arancio
Sea bass with wild fennel, crisp vegetable and orange sauce
Semifreddo al limoncello caprese
Limoncello liqueur parfait
Heather commented upon her return home that:
The hotel staff was excellent and the lunch and ceremony out on the terrace was very intimate and perfect. My entire family commented that it was probably the best meal start to finish that we’ve ever had.
Rosanna, I would like to thank you for making my daughter’s wedding day fabulous. Simona, Umberto, and the Capri Tiberio Palace outdid themselves. It could not have been more perfect. I think everyone who sees Heather’s pictures will want to get married in Italy and you are highly recommended. Please pass on my gratitude to Umberto, Simona and the hotel.
