The hotel was opened in 1951 when the owner turned his summer home into a charming hotel. Today it offers 59 individually decorated rooms furnished with beautiful antiques that maintain the feel of a private home - albeit a very luxurious one! The welcome is warm, never stuffy and the various sitting rooms and lounges are a great place to relax after a day exploring the Amalfi Coast.

The Pool Terrace is perfumed with the scent of lemon trees and flowers; an enchanting setting for lunches and snacks. The Champagne and Oyster Bar, set on a different terrace is a riot of roses and frangipane blossoms.

Almost all rooms, suites and junior suites look out over the bay of Positano. Most have a private terrace or balcony and all have white-washed walls, vaulted ceilings and hand-made tiles on the floors.

The restaurant serves delicious Neapolitan cuisine prepared with local ingredients. At dinner, four hundred candles create an unforgettable atmosphere.
