The civil ceremonies in Cortona are held in the magnificent 13th century Captain’s palace; Palazzo dei Capitani del Popolo, right on the central square, the Piazza della Republica with imposing crenellated tower. The wedding hall is reached via a flight of steps into the formal entrance. The palace and wedding hall are quite impressive; and is a favorite of the Distinctive Italy Weddings team. Ceremonies are celebrated in beautiful surroundings of ancient wooden beams, rich frescoes and a huge medieval stone fireplace. The overall atmosphere is one steeped in history and warmth. Couples have been marrying in this wedding hall for centuries!

Regarding the civil ceremony in Cortona:
Cortona civil ceremonies are performed Mondays through Saturdays, mornings and afternoons and Sunday mornings. Only two weddings allowed per day for the sake of the couples intimacy and privacy. A sworn statement is required several days prior to the wedding date. The Cortona wedding hall will hold up to 100 guests and is suitable for large groups.
