Koi Liebe Gra Agape Cinta Laska Amor … Love was right there in every moment of this Lebanese Wedding in Ravello where friends and family flew from literally all corners of the earth to a stunning Villa Cimbrone wedding on the Amalfi Coast.
Those who know anything about Lebanon understand the warmth and courage of a people surviving the best and the worst in life but who always manage to stay upbeat and find a way to celebrate; so true for Genane and Ziad whose blessing in Italy took on a special meaning for this couple living in one of the few communities in the middle east reserved for Catholics.
Genane’s family flew in from L.A. with their support and cheer and blended with Ziad’s childhood friend’s affection - combined with a little mischief – the wedding party took the small coastal town by surprise when they stopped for welcome aperitifs right on the main square underneath the shade of a 13th century Romanesque Duomo di Ravello.
The civil ceremony was performed with close family and a Mediterranean backdrop to die for, second only to the one saved for the wedding day. A double celebration on the day honoring St. Francis himself, blessed in his namesake church in Ravello.
The two families joined together for a magical moment in Genane and Ziad’s life and not just on the wedding day, but long before that. Ziad’s sister Zeina is a Lebanese stylist on the rise and she personally designed her future sister-in-law’s wedding gown: shorter in front to accent Genane’s petit, athletic physique and to showcase a pair of fuschia Manolo Blahniks; long, but very long in the back to follow Genane as she walked down the steps from the Villa to the the church.
Ziad shared his wedding day morning getting ready with his best buds, a smooth cigar, and old stories. Then it was time to join his congregation and await Genane to be blessed together and showered in typical middle eastern shrills. Once outside of the church, Neapolitan minstrels lead the way back to Villa Cimbrone for dinner in the crypt – Genane’s brother dedicating a piano solo to his favorite sister - and dancing in the garden of two fountains.
How else to say goodbye than with a farewell brunch on a glorious Amalfi Coast Sunday, gazing across the Mediterranean Sea perhaps looking for Lebanese shores …
" During our three-day wedding – the DIW team went above and beyond with their attentiveness, with their excellent service and most importantly with their genuine love.
Everything in our opinion was flawless and magical.
Ziad and I are thankful that we decided to go with DIW. The team is amazingly professional, prompt, assuring, friendly and most importantly loving. We highly recommend DIW to work with."
