Italian wedding venues - the Alps and Northern Italy

You've probably seen or heard of destination weddings in Tuscany, Lake Como and the Alps. More couples are choosing to get married in the North of Italy because of the singular beauty and variety of Italy's northern regions.
Trentino Alto Adige, Friuli and Lombardy offer amazing mountains and enchanting venues for a fairytale Italian wedding. The Dolomites in the summertime are simply breathtaking. There are mountain churches, panoramic castles for a once in a lifetime wedding reception, and stunning scenery for amazing wedding photos. Those published in this post are by one of our photographers: Alessandro Ghedina. Alessandro is actually from the Dolomites and knows this area well!
One of our favorite reception venues is this Fairytale Alpine Castle. Overlooking the vineyards and apple orchards of the surrounding valleys it could not enjoy a more panoramic setting.
Elegant receptions are part of the Northern Italian wedding traditions - served in magnificent halls, romantic cellars or outdoor gardens and terraces. North Italian cuisine is superlative - using local ingredients and 100% seasonal.
If you are planning a wedding in Italy you should consider locations such as Cortina D'Ampezzo - the pearl of the Dolomites. Cortina is not just a winter resort but a wonderful town to visit in summer when the mountains are exploding with blooms. Luxury chalet hotels await you for a romantic honeymoon stay.
Catholic weddings in Italy's northern regions can be celebrated in the smaller mountain churches. The interiors reflect the rich artistic heritage of the Trentino Alto Adige region.
Civil weddings can be arranged in castles, palaces and elegant town halls. Cortina's D'Ampezzo's wedding hall is an elegant wood-paneled room with frescoed ceilings. It is also possible to marry in one of the mountain refuges - some can only be reached via chairlift!
