Jessica and Joshua's Ravello Wedding at the Belmond Caruso

There is a specific shade of azure blue that can only be found in the Amalfi Coast. The sky, water and reflection of the sun on the Mediterranean make this area of Italy truly enchanting, and the dreamiest location for a wedding in Italy.

The five star resort – home to stunning panoramic views, is where Canadian couple Jessica and Joshua chose to have their fairytale wedding in the Amalfi Coast. Located in the ancient town of Ravello, which itself is a UNESCO world heritage site, the hotel Belmond Caruso is arguably the most luxe palace in the area.

The 11th century palace sets the scene for romance with its sun drenched terraces, intricate ceiling décor and fragrant Italian gardens.

The palace’s ideal location is near to Ravello’s historic center where guests can enjoy all the wonders of southern Italy in the town square and where couples can exchange vows in the stunning 900-year-old Duomo cathedral, which is exactly what Jessica and Joshua decided to do.

Leading up to their special day, Jessica and Joshua held a welcome dinner for all their guests at a local restaurant, filled with flowing prosecco and mouthwatering pizza.

The theme of the wedding was romantic and elegant. Needless to say, the entire day was exactly that.

Jessica prepared to say “I do” in one of the hotel’s famous suites with her bridesmaids who were dressed in the accent color – bordeaux. Jessica was stunning, donning a red lip, crystal teardrop earrings and a gorgeous beaded sweetheart gown. She made sure to add her ‘something blue’ with her stiletto heels. Her bouquet kept to the theme with chic white flowers with pops of reds and bordeaux.

Joshua, handsome in all black, made sure his groomsmen fit right into the Amalfi atmosphere by wearing royal blue suites (with a bordeaux corsage) echoing the sea and sky of southern Italy.

The afternoon ceremony had every guest awestruck in the ancient cathedral for a catholic ceremony. As Jessica walked down the aisle, violinists played some of the couples favorite songs.

The ceremony concluded with photos outside the church and a traditional folk duo who played the party all the way back to the Belmond Caruso.

This is when the celebrations really started. Guests arrived to the palace for welcome cocktails in the stunning gardens that overlook the coast. The ambience was pure bliss as a live band played traditional music while guests sipped on bubbly and enjoyed the unbeatable views.

Dinner was served under the olive trees in the breathtaking Wagner gardens. The décor consisted of white linens, silver cutlery, gilded candelabra and luscious florals in the chosen color palette. The deep bordeaux and golds created a gorgeous contrast to the bright azure background.

Guests dined on the Belmond’s carefully curated wedding menu, fusing fresh local ingredients with tasting gourmet dishes, paired with famous wines from the region.

Right after dinner, dessert was served with the cutting of the cake. The couple sliced the towering white cake, which was (of coursed) adorned with red flowers, while Marry Me by Bruno Mars played in the background.

The party moved poolside, complete with a DJ set. More than one tear was shed as Jessica and Joshua had their first dance to Perfect Symphony by Ed Sheeran and Andrea Boccelli.
