Elegant Florence wedding at Villa Cora

Manjit and Philip celebrated their wedding day in one of the most luxurious Florence wedding venues – Villa Cora.
In addition, this lovely UK couple wanted the help and assistance of a Florence wedding planner. They did not need to search too long and far with Distinctive Italy Weddings!
Stefania, one of our senior planners and an expert connoisseur of Florence assisted them from start to finish; and they could not have been in better hands!
This magnificent Florence wedding location is situated just a few steps from Piazzale Michelangelo – the terrace with the most beautiful view of Florence. The villa also overlooks the famous Boboli Gardens, features a fine restaurant and a beautiful Italian garden, a swimming pool and a fabulous terrace with views. It dates back to the late nineteenth century and is dominated by opulent decorative eclecticism.
In 2016, Villa Cora becomes part of The Leading Hotels of the World, an international collection of luxury independent hotels – a perfect place for a lavishing wedding in Florence.
Manjit wore a stunning long hand embroidered wedding gown and Philip surprised everyone wearing a traditional Indian white long jacket called sherwani. The groom wanted to surprise the bride and bring some Indian elements to the wedding day and honor Manjit’s Indian cultural heritage.
The ceremony was held in one of the stunning rooms of Villa Cora. The chosen formal decor consisted of two raised golden vases, overflowing with cyclamen, blush & peach roses, bougainvillea branches and a few burgundy dahlias.
Manjit walked down the aisle accompanied by romantic melodies of a string quartet and many could not hide their tears.
The ceremony was followed by an aperitif and seated dinner in the most iconic room of Villa Cora; The Mirror Room – undoubtedly one of the most beautiful private rooms for wedding celebrations in Florence. It is a miniature Versailles!!
The wedding flower decoration complemented perfectly the lavishing indoor décor of the villa.
Burgundy, blush, pink & claret color palette created a romantic & luxury atmosphere with a touch of oriental feel.
The dinner tables were decorated with golden cups filled with ruby red, blush & pink flowers. Our Italian wedding flower specialist – Fiore al’Occhiello scattered the tables with fruits, flowerheads and berries in the shades of marsala, fuchsia and intense pink. This grand decor was topped with golden candleholders. The effect was spectacular.
The brides cascading bouquet consisted of burgundy amaranthus & dahlias, pink callas & blush English roses.
A big plus of having your wedding in Florence is sneaking out after the ceremony to have your pictures taken in the most iconic places. To have the Dome of Florence as your photo backdrop is an amazing experience! Manjit and Phillip did exactly that and had their pictures taken by a master of wedding photography – Andrea Pitti - http://www.andreapitti.com
After cutting the wedding cake, Manjit together with Philip and their guests enjoyed the rest of the night savoring cocktails from the open bar, sweets from a dessert buffet and danced until midnight.
