Lake Como Wedding - Hilde and Yngve
You couldn’t have picked a more perfect day than when Swedish – Norwegian couple, Hilde and Yngve said “I do” during their wedding on Lake Como.
As the clouds floated slowly through the foothills of the Italian Alps, the calm and serene day was the most romantic setting for their Lake Como wedding.
THANK YOU for all your wonderful work at our wedding! It was way beyond what we could ever imagine. Amazing.
At an 18th century lakeside villa surrounded by ancient botanical gardens, Elinor and Vegar exchanged their vows overlooking the water and mountains. While they opted for an outdoor ceremony, they chose to have the celebration dinner inside the villa’s antique, and impeccably decorated, dining hall.
The couple and closest family members also rented the villa’s elegant rooms.
Elinor dawned a gorgeous embellished mermaid gown with champagne coloured flats and a long, flowing veil. Her bridesmaids matched with neutral/ golden beiges dresses, harmonizing with the colours of the traditional villas along the northern lake region.
The scene was ethereal as the beautiful Elinor emerged from the botanical gardens to walk down the isle, while a harp played Moon River. Peach, pink and ivory florals complimented the vibrant greens of the botanical gardens.
The exclusive Lake Como wedding venue had the most breathtaking views of the waters, the promontory of Bellagio and the Alps, which all made for a remarkable wedding ceremony backdrop.
Vegar and Elinor had a romantic photo shoot along the villa’s dock and gardens with all-encompassing panoramic views. With the deep silver water and intense sky, the romantic scene looked like it was out of a fairytale.
After the outdoor ceremony, the guests celebrated with a traditional Italian wedding dinner held inside the stunning banquet hall adorned with frescoed ceilings and Venetian terrazzo floors. Elegant floral centerpieces decorated the tables, which were all named after different Italian cities. From the grand landscape, to the tiniest details, such as place card holders made from Italian wine corks, all immersed the Swedish / Norwegian crowd into a traditional, elegant, wedding in Lake Como.
The guests dined on authentic northern Italian dishes, while touching speeches and laughter carried out through the evening.
The cutting of the cake was held on the villa’s historic outdoor footpath, which (no surprise) has an immense view over the landscape. The 3-tiered wedding cake was garnished with light and earthy florals, matching the wedding’s colour palette.
The night ended with a star speckled sky on a candlelit outdoor terrace. For Vegar and Elinor there was no better place to celebrate their special Lake Como wedding day.
