WEDDING IN TUSCANY a 3 day celebration for Lucia and Ian
Two families, one from California, the other from Italy, joined together to celebrate a wedding in one of the most enchanting hamlets in Tuscany.
It was an unforgettable 3-day event, each day a unique experience.
The celebrations kicked off with a traditional Tuscan BBQ to welcome all the guests. The following day a wine tour was arranged at one of the best-known local wineries complete with lunch.
On the wedding day, lunch was a relaxing picnic - each guest with their own basket of delights allowing them to relax and bask in the spectacular June sunshine in their favorite corner of the hamlet.
In the afternoon an intimate Catholic ceremony was celebrated in the private chapel of the hamlet. Many historic venues in Tuscany have their own chapels.
Following the ceremony, an extravagant set up of cocktails and finger foods was enjoyed while guests took in the views of the famed Val D'Orcia countryside - a UNESCO Heritage site. A formal reception followed, featuring a multi-course feast of local specialties ending with a dessert buffet.
The decor theme was rustic chic with a pink palette highlighting the olive tree as central to reflect the olive groves of the surrounding countryside. A dream setting for a Tuscany wedding!

“Ian and I met when we were colleagues in Shanghai, China. Both expats far from home and both counting the days to return to our countries. I am from Italy, and he is from the US. As we grew closer, the thought of returning home was quickly replaced with the thought of always being together. Our compromise has always been to mix our countries and families as much as possible. With that said, no better location could have been chosen for our marriage celebration than the Hamlet in the heart of Tuscany where I was born.
A romantic, rustic, and never-ending view of the Val d'Orcia hills from the beautiful Hamlet was a breathtaking experience for Americans and Italians alike.
