Lake Bracciano is only 19 miles from Rome and one of the most enchanting parts of the Lazio region. A vulcanic lake, Bracciano is the 8th largest lake in Italy - large enough for sailing. It is surrounded by charming medieval towns such as Trevignano Romano and Anguillara. Anyone planning a wedding in Italy should consider getting married in Bracciano. This is where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes chose to celebrate their wedding at the magnificent Odescalchi Castle. Without a doubt, the Castello Orsini-Odescalchi is the most noteworthy historic venue in the Lake Bracciano area. Overlooking the Lake (the views are amazing!) it is a perfect example of a Renaissance fortress. It can host very large events as well as couples only blessing ceremonies.
