One of the most requested Tuscan wedding reception and ceremony venues!
The history of the castle dates back to the year 1,031 when it was owned by the Vinsdomini family. As the centuries went by the castle came into decline and was eventually bought by an English lord who fell in love with the Medieval castle despite its ruined state.
Over 80 masons, artisans, glassmakers and sculptors were engaged by Lord John Temple in 1840 to restore the ancient ruins of this spectacular castle and bring it to its present glory. The labor of love took 10 years but the result is one of the finest Tuscan wedding locations of all.
The castle enjoys extraordinary vistas, it can be seen from the surrounding countryside for miles away. The architecture is medieval and renaissance with crenellated towers and majestic walls. Guests can explore the beautifully furnished drawing rooms decorated with frescoes and coats of arms.
Your Tuscany wedding event could begin with a ceremony in the gardens followed by a cocktail hour on the terrace with guests admiring the views. A formal seated dinner in the courtyard lit with candles and torches will linger in the memory of you and your guests for years to come.
