Your choice of music will establish the mood and atmosphere of your ceremony; this is one of the most important choices you can make for your Italian destination wedding.
Wedding Ceremony Music Favorites
Bach, Pachabel and Handel are perennial wedding ceremony favorites if you wish to create an elegant and classical atmosphere. Your choice will further be dictated based on the wedding location and type of instrument(s) you select.
Should you prefer a single musician for your ceremony, we highly recommend a harpist, which is able to fill even a large hall or church with warmth and lovely sounds, or a classical guitarist, or violinist. For church weddings, organs are generally available and can accompany a soprano or tenor. An organist can be accompanied by flute and violin as well.
A soprano singer singing Schubert’s Ave Verum during your Catholic wedding in Italy is sure to send chills down the spine of all your guests!

Amalfi Coast Wedding Music
For the Amalfi Coast a typical duo of mandolin and guitar are traditional wedding music favorites; available for both ceremony and reception. They can even serenade the Bride and Groom and guests as they make their way to the wedding banquet!
Wedding Reception Music Favorites
Your destination wedding reception in Italy will be greatly enhanced by the addition of music. A string quartet is one of the most requested options for the cocktail hour; allowing your guests to relax while enjoying aperitifs and appetizers and the beautiful surroundings. Classical quartets are always elegant and can continue during the meal. Another option is a jazz trio/quartet which creates a sophisticated atmosphere.
In certain regions guests can experience outstanding folklorist groups with dancers dressed in local costumes, accompanied by traditional instruments.
Other suggested options:

Cello and flute
Cello and harp
Cello and two violins,
The main decision will be whether to use a DJ or a band. At Distinctive Italy Weddings, our wedding planners only work with professional DJ’s and some of the best bands in the country. A DJ generally offers the advantage of a fairly limitless repertoire, while a band can be more limited. The DJ can announce the arrival of the Bride and Groom as well. DJ’s do a great job of gaging the mood of the group and introducing the right music at the right time: from Frank Sinatra to Mariah Carey. They are by far the most flexible choice. A big band however certainly will make quite an impression, and our bands definitely rock!
