The Historic Villa surrounded by an elegant Italian garden in a stunningly beautiful corner of the Chianti countryside, offers an authentic testimony of country life during the Renaissance period. The main part of the villa dates back to the 14th century. Mona Lisa - painted by Leonardo da Vinci, the daughter of Anton Maria Gherardini, was born here in 1479.
Since 1988 the new owner has undertaken an extensive renovation of the buildings, the gardens, the vineyards and the wine cellars making this one of the most beautiful settings for a luxury wedding in Tuscany.
The Historic Villa is a small Renaissance gem, its setting still very similar to the original. The core of the villa dates back to the XIV century, but its current look is the one given at the end of the XVI century by the Gherardi family who had purchased it from the Gherardinis.
The garden appears to be divided into two parts. The section adjacent to the residence, set in a north-eastern direction, is characterized by the presence of flower beds surrounded by low, geometrically shaped box hedges, each containing a graminaceous plant meadow. Scattered around the garden are rose trees, while along the pavement going all around the villa are various basins planted with lemon trees.
The hospitality of the villa is not like that offered by hotels, giving you the chance to experience traditional Italian country life and immerse yourselves for a few days or a week in some of the most beautiful countryside in Italy. Standards are high. The Villa's agriturismo consists of rooms, suites and apartments, each one different from the next, situated in the villa and in three different old farmhouses which have been carefully and tastefully restored and furnished and which are complemented with outdoor and indoor facilities such as a tennis court, two swimming pools, mountain bikes, gym and a children's playground.
A row of eight, hundred year old cypress-trees separates this area from the second one.
The cellars are spectacular and can be visited. The wine is aged in oak barrels and barriques which are situated inside the fifteenth century cellars. The structure of the cellars, which respects traditional canons, offers ideal conditions for maturing wines in a totally natural way; in fact, the temperature and environmental humidity are not controlled.
The estate covers an area of 160 hectares, situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico district. 52 hectares (=128 US acres) of the estate are occupied by vineyards and there are eleven hectares of olive-groves.
There is an elegant SPA at the Historic Villa offering Beauty Treatments. The treatments for face and body exploit the powerful anti-oxidant and regenerating action of the polyphenols contained in the grapes.

In the very heart of the city's historic center, this noble residence is a gorgeous location for a wedding ceremony and reception in Verona. It is possible to hold a legally binding civil ceremony on the property, either outside in the wonderful gardens or in one of the stunning grand halls. The Palazzo dates back to the 1700's and its interiors are decorated with elaborate frescoes, carvings and stuccoes by famous artists such as Filippo Maccari (1725-1800), Francesco Lorenzi (1723-1787) and Lorenzo Pavia (1741-1764). Arches and majestic doorways create a regal atmosphere.
But we are particularly entranced by the amazing gardens - which viewed from the upper balconies are enchanting. You would never imagine upon entering that such a wide, green expanse could be hidden behind the palazzo's gates. The gardens are ideal for outdoor ceremonies, cocktails or a reception. And if that were not enough, adjacent to the gardens are the ancient cellars -perfect for dancing the night away to your heart's content with wonderful acoustics. In short, this palace has everything you could ever desire for a royal wedding!
