Ana and Justin's Tuscany Wedding at Gargonza Castle
Ana & Justin’s Two Day Tuscan Castle Wedding at Castello di Gargonza!
When couple Ana and Justin described their ideal destination wedding in Italy, with a color palette of blush, peach, and ivory, and a passion for Italian wine and gastronomy, the Distinctive Italy team knew immediately that Tuscany was the right region choice for them. With a 3 day celebration in mind, the planners knew exactly which locations would be perfect to organize their welcome wine tasting, pizza party and ceremony and reception.
Ana and Justin started off the wedding celebrations on day 1 with a tour and tasting of an authentic Tuscany winery. Hitting the ground running with this stunning vineyard tour, guests were immediately impressed with the beautiful views of the winery’s estate.
Day two kicked off with a festive pizza party at the chosen wedding location – Castello di Gargonza. A 13th century castle/hamlet hidden in the rolling hills of southern Tuscany near the historic town of Arezzo. The ambience was relaxed and casual, with soft music playing and décor made up of aromatic plants. Everyone was buzzing with anticipating for the next day – the wedding day!
THE WEDDING DAY!
On Ana and Justin’s big day, the castle was bustling with excitement. The bridal party got an early start getting ready in one of the hamlet’s medieval suites. Ana wore a gorgeous, highly detailed gown, donning a removable tulle train, while her bridesmaids wore varying styles of beaded taupe and mauve gowns.
The color palette of the wedding was organic and natural, and Ana’s luscious bouquet exuded the theme. Her bunch was made up of eucalyptus, zinnias, snapdragons, and garden roses wrapped in an ivory satin ribbon. The bridesmaids held petit versions
of the bride’s bouquet.

With the ceremony taking place in the stunning Lecceta garden, the natural beauty of the landscape really played into the wedding’s color palette and theme. As Ana made her way down the aisle, sounds of a tenor, violins and cellos played in the distance. The couple exchanged their vows in front of a lavish wildflower field. Guests were both uncontrollably smiling and teary-eyed while looking on at the happy couple.
As soon as the ceremony came to a close, to everyone’s surprise, a parade of Tuscan flag wavers and musicians lead the way to the cocktail hour and aperitif.
Cocktails were served on rustic-chic wooden barrels while a string quartet continued the entertainment.
As the sun started to set, guests moved down to Castello di Gargonza’s restaurant for the reception dinner. Cascading paper scrolls decorated with handwritten calligraphy indicated the guests’ seats.
Inside everyone was in awe from the luxurious floral arrangements adorning every corner of the hall. Overflowing greenery and warm candlelight gave the entire atmosphere an ethereal feel.

The evening progressed full of tear-jerking speeches, with lots of dancing and music, and as midnight rolled around everyone still had a bit of room left for the traditional Millefoglie wedding cake and (of course a southern Tuscany wedding would not be complete without) some porchetta and artisanal gelato.
From the wine tasting at Felsina, to the festive pizza party and the breathtaking reception, Ana and Justin’s wedding in Tuscany was nothing short of unforgettable.
